Children's Ministry Director
Aloha, my name is Cara Jane (aka CJ) Sambueno. I have been blessed to be able to work in our Children’s Ministry here at Calvary Chapel Pearl Harbor since December 2015 as a Sunday school teacher for the 2nd service preschool/kindergarten kidz. My family and I have learned so much from our kidz in class every week as we have discovered what God has for us in each lesson. I have truly enjoyed serving in our Children’s Ministry as a partner with our parents to help unpack what God’s Word says about His love for us as His children.
I was born and raised here in Honolulu, Hawaii and graduated from Moanalua High school in 1994. I recently married in February 2017 to my husband Kalei whom the Lord had brought to me as we were childhood friends then met again here at Calvary Chapel Pearl Harbor in 2015. I am a mother of three incredible children: Gabriel (18), Sadie-Ann (17) and Josiah (8) and God is so good as He has blessed me with three beautiful step children: Liloa, Kimiko and Shinako.
I was led to Calvary Chapel Pearl Harbor in March 2014 as I was looking for a good church for my children and soon after I gave my life to the Lord in May. Seeing how the Lord had used my children to draw me to Him I know the value in His Word on our children’s lives. I have learned what He can do when a child has a heart for the Lord over the years serving our families. It amazes me to witness how God can use a child’s faith as little as mustard seed to grow in their hearts (Matt. 17:20).
I look forward to meeting and serving your family as the Lord leads. In I Peter 4:10-11 it says, “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.” Another scripture that speaks to me is in Luke 17:10, “So likewise you, when you have done all those things which you are commanded, say, ‘We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do.”
